In the late 40s, Servas founder, Bob Luitweiler, who had a background in the peace movement realized the key to reducing global prejudice was to engage in international travel with locals (thus reducing costs) and share in multicultural dialogue leading to cultural tolerance and understanding. It’s purpose today is the same: to continue the conversation of global peace and goodwill.
